Introduction to Kaneez Akhtar Welfare Center
I'm Shahid Naz Lodhi from Jalalpur Jattan, Pakistan.I have been living a successful life in the United States by the grace of Allah. Since 2015, I have been supporting 50 households, providing 15 kg of flour per month to 50 widowed women who had no breadwinner.
Expansion of Services
Over time, friends like Shoukat Kanth (late), Hassan Ali, and Waqas alias Noki Butt joined me in this endeavor. By 2016, we expanded our support to 100 households, providing flour to 100 widowed women on the 1st of every month. In 2017, we initiated the construction of a mosque in Jalalpur Jattan, which is still underway. We also installed solar systems in various mosques in Jalalpur Jattan, worth Rs. 5 lac each. Additionally, we provide wedding expenses for 20-25 orphan girls every year.
Further Expansion and Challenges
Since 2015, we've provided Ramadan groceries to 400 households, worth Rs. 2000. In 2018, support expanded to 200 widowed households. Chaudhry Fiaz Ahmed Waraich joined in 2019. During COVID-19, we launched non-profit grocery stores, and by 2020, supported 1200 households with Rs. 4000 in Ramadan groceries.
Establishment of Kaneez Akhtar Welfare Medical Center
With the consultation of friends, we established the Kaneez Akhtar Welfare Medical Center, located on Kharian Road, Jalalpur Jattan. The center operates for 12 hours, providing OPD services. We charge a minimal registration fee, and patients receive free medicine and check-ups for the day. The center has MBBS doctors, gynecologists, heart specialists, and general physicians. Alhamdulillah, we have received a license from PHC, and we continue to provide these services solely for the pleasure of Allah.
